But We Must Not Expect Personal Improvement Without Pain Or Some 'remodeling.' We Can't Expect To Have The Thrills Of Revealed Religion Without The Theology. We Cannot Expect To Have The Soul Stretching Without Christian Service.

The Enlarging Of The Soul Requires Not Only Some Remodeling, But Some Excavating.

The Harrowing Of The Soul Can Be Like The Harrowing Of The Soil; To Increase The Yield, Things Are Turned Upside Down.

The Soul Is Like A Violin String: It Makes Music Only When It Is Stretched.

A New Calling Can Beckon Us Away From Comfortable Routine And From Competencies Already Acquired.
