In My Own Country, Many Of The Movies In Recent Years Express Our Innate Fears About What Awaits Us. They Are Apocalyptic Visions That Leave Only A Few People On Earth-whole Cities Surviving Under Domes Because We Have Depleted Our Natural Resources. And Often In These Movies, For Reasons That I Question, We Have Space Aliens Who Are Always Blowing Up Washington, D.c., And The White House.

People Are Stereotypes, They Are Caricaturized. It Comes From Both Sides Of The Political Aisle, It Comes From The Press. It's All About Conflict, It's All About Personality, And There Are Huge Stakes In The Policies That Are Being Debated, And I Think There's A Hunger Amongst A Very Significant, Maybe Even A Critical Mass Of Americans, Clustered On The Left, Right, And Center, To Have An Adult Conversation About How We're Going To Solve These Problems ... But It's Not For The Fainthearted.

I Think It's Important For People To Say Look, What Does Each Party And Each Candidate Have To Offer For You. If You Want A Better Future That Is Going To Be Reliant On Making Smart Economic Policies, Compare My Husband's Eight Years With Ronald Reagan's Eight Years. 23 Million New Jobs, More Than Seven Million People Lifted Out Of Poverty.

I Would Like To Save Lives. Now You Know, The Gun Lobby Will Say, "you Can't Stop Everybody." And I Would Agree With That: You Can't Stop Everybody. Isn't It Worth Stopping As Many As Possible, Saving As Many Lives As We Can? And I Think Comprehensive Background Checks And Trying To Keep Guns Outta The Wrong Hands Would Help Us Do That.

I Want A Supreme Court That Will Stick With Roe V. Wade And A Woman's Right To Choose, And I Want A Supreme Court That Will Stick With Marriage Equality.
