I Think People Are Learning To Actually Aspire To Be Objectified.

When I Was Younger, I Did Self-mutilate. I'd Be Upset, So I'd Do It, & It Would Calm Me Down. It's A Horrible Way To Feel Better. But There Are Two Parts Of Your Brain - One That Really Wants To Destroy The Other. & Sometimes The Idea Of Self-destruction Is Very Romantic. I Got Over That.

My Boyfriend Is Jewish, And He Calls Himself A Kike Every Five Seconds.

I've Done And Said A Lot Of Things When I Was Younger That I Don't Know If I Even Understood What I Was Doing Or Why I Was Doing It. There's A Lot Of Compassion In Understanding What People Go Through And Even In Trying To Understand Why A Person Would Act The Way They Do. I Was A Very Reactive Person, And I Did Things That Were Just Really Bizarre; I Don't Think People Understood It At All.

That Worries Me An Awful Lot. If People Misunderstand Our Intentions [in Black Snake Moan], Especially Regarding My Character, Then They're Essentially Exploiting An Already Exploited And Abused Woman. So It's A Huge Concern For Me.
