Following Jesus Means Taking Up One's Own Cross To Accompany Him On His Path, An Uncomfortable Path That Is Not One Of Success Or Earthly Glory, But Which Leads To True Freedom, The Freedom From Selfishness And Sin.

Idolatry, Then, Is Always Polytheism, An Aimless Passing From One Lord To Another. Idolatry Does Not Offer A Journey But Rather A Plethora Of Paths Leading Nowhere And Forming A Vast Labyrinth.

If We, Each Doing Our Own Part, If We Do Good To Others, If We Meet There, Doing Good, And We Go Slowly, Gently, Little By Little, We Will Make That Culture Of Encounter: We Need That So Much. We Must Meet One Another Doing Good.

Jesus Speaks In The Silence Of The Mystery Of The Eucharist And Reminds Us Each Time That Following Him Means Going Out Of Ourselves And Making Our Lives Not Something We 'possess,' But A Gift To Him And To Others.
